Floc

Floc - Salvi, 2013

Floc, “snowake” in Catalan, is a “warm and silent” light that can be used in a variety of situations in both domestic or professional spaces. The round head, the conical body... two simple shapes that blend design with advanced technological research.
Floc consists of a head built in anodized aluminum that contains a printed LED circuit; a nickel-plated brass joint allowing a great freedom of movement, a removable methacrylate diuser with magnets and a pressured die-cast aluminium body. The light intensity can be regulated through the switch creating a personal and versatile relationship with the user. Floc is not just an object, but a “delicate” presence where the light prevails over the shape.

Thin

Thin - Salvi, 2011

Thin is born from the concept of “material reduction” to get an outstanding light performance. It wants to make light and this message prevails over its “non-shape”. Thin is a light extruded aluminum module only 4mm thick, 170mm wide and 850mm long that guarantees a good quality of light for every specific application as well as high energy savings thanks to its power LEDs mounted on two printed circuits. It presents an interchangeable optical system that allows the same LEDs to have different photometric distributions. Initially Thin was created to illuminate parkings and similar spaces, but its design and optical flexibility allow Thin to be placed “silently” in other spaces where light becomes the only protagonist.

Ioio

iOiO - Salvi, 2012

A lamp that “follows” you illuminating your space as you prefer. This is IOIO, a funny lamp based on LED technology that is able to produce high quality light but with minimum energy consumption. The head lamp built in anodized aluminum is like a reel that contains 10 meter of power cord that allows you to move and bring “your” light near you in every situation, while the diffuser is built in opal polypropylene that you can put on or take off thanks to its magnetic system. The dimming regulates the light intensity to have more or less light depending on what you’re doing: cooking, reading or just relaxing. Combine the reel with the different elements of the IOIO family (suspension, table or floor) and keep inventing and reinventing your “personal” lamp.

A little bit more about me…
Since 2010 I’m based in Barcelona, Spain, where I have founded the Antonio Buono Design Studio. At the same time, I work as a Creative & Industrial Designer for SALVI. Previously, I worked as an Industrial Designer for the historic Italian company Danese in Milan and collaborated with the Studio Carlotta de Bevilacqua. I am specialized in furniture, product and lighting design. I strongly believe in multidisciplinarity, and the importance of using design to satisfy the needs of contemporary life.
